Data Deletion Request

How to request the deletion of your personal data

Zamzi Connect respects your privacy and your right to control your personal information. If you are a registered user of Zamzi (including our WhatsApp services, such as the Fix-it Squad job alerts) and you would like your personal data deleted, you can do so in one of the ways below, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa.

Option 1: Delete your account in the app (fastest)

Log in to your account, go to Settings > Account > Delete account and follow the on-screen confirmation steps. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and associated personal data from our systems.

Option 2: Send a data deletion request

If you cannot log in, or if you are not a registered user and want the data linked to your contact details removed, email us a deletion request to connect@zamzi.co.za from the email address or phone number you used, stating "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line and telling us what you would like deleted.

If your request relates to a Fix-it job

Fix-it job data is stored separately from your profile, so deleting your account does not remove it. Please state in your email that the request relates to a Fix-it job and give the job reference (for example KQP-482) or the mobile number used. The records we hold for that job are:

  • the job request itself — service type, description, urgency, area
  • your name, mobile number and email address
  • the suburb, city and province of the job
  • messages and status updates sent to you
  • any review you left, and the first name and initial you left it under

We will confirm once it is done. Records required for tax or dispute purposes may be retained where the law requires it.

What happens next

  • We will confirm receipt of your request within 48 hours.
  • Your identified personal data will be permanently deleted, except where we are required by law, accounting, or reporting obligations to keep specific records.
  • We do not retain your deleted data after processing the request.
